NEW YORK -- Yankees left-hander CC Sabathia teamed up with Twins second baseman Orlando Hudson to commence the second year of Hudson's Around the Mound Tour II program. Hudson started the initiative designed to expose baseball to African-American youth last season on Jackie Robinson Day.
"This offseason, 'O' told me he'd be doing that, and that's a great thing for him to go around the league in every city he plays in to bring kids in from the inner city and get a chance to talk to them, and I think it's a great deal," Sabathia said. "I was all for it."
Sabathia and Hudson met with 30 kids from the ages of 7 to 16 on the field for a half-hour on Friday, with the youngsters sticking around for batting practice and the series opener between New York and Minnesota.
