Phillies at the plate: Philadelphia scored all three runs on solo homers, by Chase Utley, Sal Fasano and Shane Victorino. Fasano also added a double.

Yankees at the plate: New York managed only four hits against the quartet of Ryan Madson, Arthur Rhodes, Tom Gordon and Robinson Tejeda. Johnny Damon, Bubba Crosby, Gary Sheffield and Alex Rodriguez were responsible for them.

Phillies on the mound: Madson dazzled for 6 1/3 innings, allowing just four hits and one walk. He struck out three and stayed aggressive. Rhodes and Gordon combined to get five outs.

Yankees on the mound: Scott Proctor nearly matched Madson by allowing one run in five innings. Carl Pavano made his first outing since making a rehab appearance on Aug. 3. He allowed Fasano's homer.

Grapefruit League records: Phillies 17-9-1; Yankees 13-15.

Coming up: Jon Lieber returns to Grapefruit League action following an appearance in a Minor League game. The Phillies' Opening Day starter will face the Blue Jays on Wednesday at 1:05 p.m. ET. Roy Halladay will start for Toronto. Lieber has a 4.50 ERA in three outings and has allowed 14 hits in 10 innings.

Jeff Karstens starts for the Yankees against Detroit's Kenny Rogers, in a game also to be played at 1:05 p.m.
