TAMPA, Fla. -- The Yankees made six additional cuts after Wednesday's 10-0 Grapefruit League victory over the Orioles, trimming their roster to 45 players.

New York announced that it has optioned right-hander Andrew Brackman to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, as well as infielders Brandon Laird and Kevin Russo, plus outfielder Melky Mesa.

Left-hander Steve Garrison and right-hander Ryan Pope were optioned to Double-A Trenton.
