No makeup date for the contest has been announced. The Yankees and Twins will continue as scheduled for Thursday, a 1:05 p.m. ET start, but a doubleheader will not be played because both teams must travel for day games on Friday.
After the 7:50 p.m. announcement, Yankees manager Joe Girardi said that he plans to keep A.J. Burnett in line to start Thursday's matinee.
His scheduled starter for Wednesday, right-hander Freddy Garcia, has been pushed back to pitch on April 15 against the Rangers and will be available in the bullpen beginning Thursday.
"It's hard, because Freddy is going to go a while before he gets a start," Girardi said. "But we've just got to work it out."
Twins manager Ron Gardenhire is bumping back right-hander Carl Pavano a day, with left-hander Francisco Liriano set to pitch as scheduled against the Yankees on Thursday.
Pavano will instead start on Friday against the Athletics at Target Field.
