Yankees Spring Training tix on sale Friday

NEW YORK -- Another spring of fun under the Tampa sun is officially on deck, with Spring Training New York Yankees tickets now set to go on sale.

Beginning at 9 a.m. ET Friday, fans will be able to log on to yankees.com to purchase individual game tickets for the 15-game Grapefruit League home schedule at Legends Field.

The action begins March 1 with an exhibition against the defending AL Central champion Minnesota Twins, and also features two matchups against the Yankees' nemesis from last year's Division Series, the Detroit Tigers.

In addition, the Yankees will also welcome the Pirates, Reds, Devil Rays, Indians, Braves, Phillies, Blue Jays and Astros to their Spring Training home.

The Yankees will play five night games at Legends Field: March 7 vs. Cincinnati, March 14 vs. Minnesota, March 15 vs. Atlanta, March 20 vs. Philadelphia and March 28 vs. Houston.

Ticket prices to see some of the Yankees' newest additions -- including Andy Pettitte's return to pinstripes and Japanese import Kei Igawa's first big-league spring -- will range from $17 to $23.

The Yankees' 30-game Grapefruit League schedule runs through March 31, with the team's final exhibition slated to be played against Detroit. The Yankees open the 2007 regular season on April 2 in New York against Tampa Bay.
