Yankees at the plate: Robinson Cano knocked a three-run homer off Woody Williams in the first inning. Miguel Cairo was 2-for-3, marking the Yankees' lone multi-hit performance.

Astros at the plate: Carlos Lee doubled to lead off the second and scored on Luke Scott's double to center. Morgan Ensberg and Adam Everett knocked solo homers in the seventh. Brooks Conrad knocked a walk-off double off Ben Kozlowski in the ninth to score Orlando Palmeiro, who had led off the inning with a double.

Yankees on the mound: Right-hander Chien-Ming Wang allowed one run on four hits with no walks and three strikeouts over five innings. Luis Vizcaino followed with a scoreless inning, striking out two.

Astros on the mound: Williams yielded three runs, two of which were earned, on five hits with a walk and two strikeouts over five innings. All three Yankees runs were scored in the first frame. Chris Sampson struck out five over two innings.

Grapefruit League records: Astros 10-5-1; Yankees 10-5.

Up next: The Yankees will meet the Phillies on Saturday at Bright House Networks Field in Clearwater, Fla., in a 1:05 p.m. ET contest. Left-hander Andy Pettitte will start for the Yankees, who will face Phillies left-hander Jamie Moyer. The Astros travel to Vero Beach to play the Dodgers at 1:05 p.m. Righty Brian Moehler will face Dodgers right-hander Brett Tomko.
