Bombers aim to back Pettitte vs. Jays

After an outstanding homestand in which the Yankees went 5-1 and scored 64 runs, they'll look to continue their run on the road.

Coming off their sweep of the Royals in the Bronx, the Yankees will head to Rogers Centre on Monday to play the first game of the three-game series against the Blue Jays.

Andy Pettitte will take the mound for New York in his third start facing Toronto this year. The left-hander will look to pick up his first win against the Blue Jays in 2007, as he collected a loss and a no-decision in his previous two starts.

His last start against the Jays was at Yankee Stadium on July 17, when he record the no-decision over seven innings of one-run ball. Pettitte struck out seven and walked three as the Yankees won, 3-2.

Jesse Litsch will take the mound for the Blue Jays, facing the Yankees for the first time since May 30, and the second time this season. Litsch's May outing against New York was brief -- just two-thirds of an inning, in which he allowed four runs on five hits.
