Phillies at the plate: Philadelphia strung three consecutive hits together in the third inning, bringing in its first run. Chris Coste had the RBI hit, a ground single into left field that scored So Taguchi from second base. Brennan King smacked a two-run double past Alex Rodriguez and into left field in the fourth.

Yankees at the plate: Jason Giambi christened the new right-field party deck at Legends Field with a three-run homer in the first inning, the slugger's first homer of the spring. Giambi added a run-scoring double up the gap in left-center in the third. Jason Lane belted a solo homer, his first, in the second inning, and tripled in the fourth.

Phillies on the mound: Cole Hamels surrendered two home runs in his first start of the spring, serving up deep drives to Giambi in the first inning and Lane in the second inning. Hamels walked two and struck out two, throwing 44 pitches, 31 for strikes. Fabio Castro allowed the run-scoring double to Giambi and threw a wild pitch in the third.

Yankees on the mound: Andy Pettitte threw two scoreless innings in his Grapefruit League debut, walking one and striking out one. Pettitte allowed an infield single to Pedro Feliz in the second and promptly caught him looking with his trademark pickoff move. Steven White allowed a run on three hits in the third.

Grapefruit records: Yankees 1-0-1; Phillies 2-2-1.

Up next: The Phillies will play two games on Monday, meeting the Pirates for a 9:30 a.m. ET "B" game at Bright House Field in Clearwater, Fla., before playing a regularly scheduled game at 1:05 p.m. ET. Left-hander Jamie Moyer (14-12, 5.01 ERA in '07) starts the regularly scheduled game for the Phillies, while right-hander Yoslan Herrera (no record) pitches for the Bucs.

The Yankees head north to play their second road game of the spring, meeting the Astros in Kissimmee, Fla., at 1:05 p.m. ET. Right-hander Mike Mussina (11-10, 5.15 ERA in '07) makes his '08 Grapefruit League debut after pitching two innings in intrasquad action last week. Left-hander Wandy Rodriguez (9-13, 4.58 ERA in 2007) counters for Houston.
