Yanks snare ex-Red Sox catcher Cash
The Yankees made another addition to their roster on the day before Christmas that didn't have quite the impact of Tuesday's contractual agreement reached with Mark Teixeira.
According to the Associated Press, catcher Kevin Cash agreed to a Minor League deal with the Yankees on Wednesday. Although the agreement was not announced by the Yankees, it is expected to be announced in the upcoming weeks.
Cash, a career .184 hitter, will receive a $700,000, one-year deal if he is added to the 40-man roster, per the AP report. He hit .225 with three home runs and 15 RBIs in 61 games for the Red Sox last season.
