Yankees Summer Camps to return to the New York/New Jersey area in 2014

The New York Yankees today announced that New York Yankees Summer Camps presented by Refuel with Chocolate Milk will take place in New York and New Jersey beginning the week of June 23, 2014. Enrollment forms are now available at www.yankees.com/camps.

Sessions will run on a weekly basis in various locations in New York and New Jersey through August 22. In New York, camps will take place in White Plains, the Bronx, Locust Valley, Somers, Tarrytown, Old Brookville and Brentwood. In New Jersey, camps will be held in Verona, Holmdel Township, Cresskill, Denville, Oradell, Princeton and Far Hills.

Yankees Summer Camps are available to boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 13, with each camper receiving a full Yankees uniform. In addition to on-field skill development and professional instruction, campers also get the opportunity to take a guided tour of Yankee Stadium.

Campers enrolled in sessions taking place while the Yankees are on the road will be given a tour of the Yankees clubhouse. Campers taking part in sessions when the team is at home will meet a member of the 2014 New York Yankees.

Most sessions consist of five days of camp and the cost is $559 per camper.

"We work hard to give our campers a first class instructional experience based on each young player's grade and skill level," said Brendan Sullivan, President of Yankees Summer Camps. "The combination of on-field baseball development coupled with the exclusive access we offer to Yankee Stadium make our program a lasting memory for all the children who attend."

As part of the American Dairy Association and Dairy Council's "Refuel with Chocolate Milk" initiative, 85 children from families in the Bronx will receive full scholarships to attend Yankees Summer Camp at Heritage Field during the week of August 11-15, which is located on the site of the original Yankee Stadium and administered by the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation.

"One component of sports training that has a big impact on performance, yet is often overlooked, is nutrition," said Rick Naczi, CEO of the American Dairy Association. "Teaming up with the Yankees to sponsor summer camps gives the Dairy Association a great opportunity to reach youth with important information about the role low fat chocolate milk plays in the body's ability to recover after training."
